When I was exclusively pumping for Munchkins the adage that breastmilk is “liquid gold” became a looming reality in my daily life. My supply for her was just enough to meet her need with very little extra to spare. Any extra I might had went into my freezer stash to be saved for those very occasionally evenings out. In my mind, the liquid gold was equated with freedom. If I had enough milk stored then I could have a 2hr date with Husband or some girl time without worrying about pumping and knowing I could leave a bottle for her while I was gone.
When I decided I wanted to nurse Lil Dude I knew once again I would be relying on stored milk to provide some freedom once he could take a bottle. While registering on Amazon I came across Milkies Milk Saver, a product, that quite frankly, looked too good to be true. It is designed to collect any milk from the side that is not being nursed or pumped. I remembered from previous experience I had a strong letdown response so about two weeks before my due date I purchased one. When it arrived both Husband and I were skeptical. The Milkies has its own storage container which also doubles as a stand to hold the Milkies after use.
