In a previous Sunday Exhortation I introduced you to John MacArthur’s ministry, Grace to You. One thing I have truly come to appreciate over the years is a good Bible teacher. A good Bible teacher to me is first and foremost theologically sound. Second, they make the scripture clear and come alive in ways I had not previously known. John MacArthur is such a teacher to me. Awhile back now Girl Talk had recommended MacArthur’s 12 Extraordinary Women. This book is definitely worth a read! I learned so much and was challenged in my thinking about these women. Husband celebrated his birthday this week so we’ve had the birthday bug in our house again. Love it! We celebrated with tasty grilled burgers, brownies and ice cream, friends, a special gift, and our first hike as a family of four this past weekend. Munchkins, having just had her birthday about two months ago, now realizes that birthdays are indeed special days. I don’t think she gets the whole concept of getting older but she knows your birthday is suppose to be something special and different from every other ordinary day. Therefore it was incredibly difficult for her to understand was why Husband/Daddy was at work on his birthday. Clearly a birthday should mean you are at home, playing, and having a party! So thankful to be celebrating the blessing of my husband’s birth. What a delightful gift the Lord has given us in him!
